A leap into the unknown on this occasion, but it turned out to be very positive all things considered. NB had a chance to try out new callers, whilst RG had their first ever F2P war on OSRS. NB was able to bring along a few first time warrers into the fray, who thoroughly enjoyed the event based on the feedback. In addition, RG had fun and will be open to pursuing CWA events periodically from this point on. People/clans wanting to do more of something if they are given the chance to try it and they have fun - who'd have thunk it?
Admittedly, it was a messy skirmish given how much RG sniped, but that's to be expected given their inexperience and the RG event coordinator confirmed that not everyone on their side was on TS. NB pile transitions were a decent highlight, especially in round 2. Some people also got some real-time coaching while tanking, which was nice to see (hear).
Just as was the case with Team Eternity, Runeguru deciding to get into warring is excellent news with regards to the depth of the warring scene. More clans getting into warring benefits everyone given that it means a lot more action for smaller clans, as well as for academy clans/junior clans belonging to "mainstream clans". This is practically the grass roots and all that's required to develop it is to ditch elitism and have an open mind.
GG RG and welcome to the warring scene. Until next time.
