We expected NB to have a stern test given how many Dutch warriors frequent DT's cc. We also knew that they were strict about ensuring everyone gets on Teamspeak, while they also have experienced plety of wars previously. We hoped that DT would be able to give NB a competitive fight and that's exactly what ensued. They brought high levels and numbers to the table, as well as maintaining 1 pile most of the time.
Round 1 - First to 25
NB start: 23 people (3 TR guests)
DT start: 39 people
NB wins 25 to 23
A superb win while outnumbered. It wasn't plain sailing and it didn't look promising at 16-19, but the win was secured with some good tanking, pile selection and good hype/rallying late on. DT struggled to use all of their numbers effectively and this was ultimately what denied them from being able to win the round.
Round 2 - Matched Numbers Knockout
NB start: 27 people
DT start: 27 people
NB wins by 10 people
The last 5+ minutes were very tedious since it turned into hide and seek, but that shouldn't take much away from the results. NB was dominant on even numbers despite the vast deficit in levels between NB and DT. Unfortunately, binds were lacking and this made energy an issue, as well as making it more difficult to pile effectively at times. DT targetted what few binders we had fairly early on and it definitely had a bearing on the result. If we had more binds/if they didn't succeed in taking out mages, we almost certainly would have won by 15+ people remaining.
GG DT. Hopefully another event can be pursued soon.
